The Recent Events in Sonoma County
It’s been just over a week since the hellacious firestorm hit Sonoma and the surrounding counties. Like many of you I have seen the effects this disaster has had in our community. Santa Rosa was like a second home to me growing up, I went to Cardinal Newman, I have friends and classmates that had homes in all the areas affected by the fire. My office is on Round Barn Blvd, though closed, it was lucky spared from burning.
That being said, I have been pondering the best way for me to help get my community back on track. Last week I volunteered where I could, and just this evening I have finally been able to utilize my training to help people. To continue my support of Santa Rosa and the surrounding areas, I will be donating 50% of my earning to organizations that will be helping with the rebuild effort (most likely the RCU relief fund).
I usually offer a uniform discount to military, police, fire, EMS personnel. Because of all their hard work, that discount is going to be 50%, with half of that still being donated. I don’t know how long I can keep these going, but I will do it for as long as I can. Let’s all do our part to rebuild our communities stronger and tighter knit than ever before. #sonomacountystrong
